WATCH: Cory Sandhagen delivers Knockout of the Year contender with flying knee finish of Frankie Edgar

Corey Sandhagen's street to a bantamweight title shot stepped forward on Saturday in the co-headliner of UFC Battle Night in Las Vegas.

with flying knee finish of Frankie Edgar

Sandhagen '14-2' scored his second consecutive popular knockout when his hopping right knee got Frankie Edgar '24-9-1' flush on the jaw and sent the previous lightweight hero face first to the material. The savage completion occurred only 28 seconds into the battle as the 28-year-old Sandhagen offered a gigantic expression to the remainder of the 135-pound division.

"I was eager to flaunt my wrestling abilities since everybody realizes I suck at that," Sandhagen said. "In any case, I'll take that."

The knockout was the second quickest from a flying knee in UFC history, following just Jorge Masvidal's notable five-second completion of Ben Askren in 2019. However, the jostling picture of Edgar, a 39-year-old remarkable person, oblivious before he even hit the ground left Sandhagen incapable to celebrate.
